BRP RAPID CONCEPT

Here is my end of studies 3D animation project. I worked during 10 months with 3 others digital designers to make a 2 minutes animations for the BRP Rapid concept. The biggest challenge was to work on particles and water because we didn't know anything about it. We had to manage the full project from Storyboard to Post-production and Sound Design.

I WAS IN CHARGE OF...

One of the hardest thing was to manage the project. We had deadlines and a lot to learn and to improve. Some people wanted to work on 3D modeling, and some other on rendering or animation. My biggest work has been 3D animation using Maya, 3D rendering of the interior and water using Vray, water simulation using Bifrost, Post-production and editing using After-effects and Premiere, and Sound Design using Logic Pro and Reaper.

TEXTURING AND RENDERING TIME

Clément worked on the texturing of the exterior part while I was working on the texturing of the water and interior part. It was a big challenge because our Maya scene were huge (up to 60 GB for 5 seconds of movie), and we had to find solutions to reduce render time to be able to respect deadlines.

FX, EDITING AND SOUND DESIGN

I added effects like motion blur, depth blur, light effects, vignetting and sky using After-effects and premiere.

A BIG CHALLENGE

The water simulation was a big challenge for us, because we didn't know how to do it and we had to look for tutorials and to find solutions watching tutorials. A special thank to Igor Zanic for his advices.

Thank you!
